In March 2016, I was a wife, mother of 3 boys, school counselor, football coach and elder at my church, and I thought, relatively healthy. In April 2016, I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, and in May, I started treatment and my husband walked out the door hours after my first round of chemotherapy. To say it was a crazy couple of months is a major understatement! My two older sons lived across the country so it was just myself and my, then, 12-year old son. Once we took a couple of deep breaths, we both realized we were better off, and we just need to figure out this new life.
This blog is an opportunity for me to share our journey and hopefully influence and inspire others. It also gives me a chance to work through my own issues as they arise. ****Warning*** I am crazy and blunt and have a very small filter, especially when it comes to things about myself, so be warned…you may laugh, you may cry, but you will certainly come to realize that “your life ain’t so bad”!!! 🙂
